St. David’s Outreach Committee Serves Many
The People of St. David’s Parish are committed to reaching out in love and action into the world and our community. An outreach committee of 6-7 members meets monthly discerning grant funding requests according to our parish ministry priorities and global and community needs. The Outreach Committee keeps the congregation abreast of ministry opportunities to serve, organizes parish special in-gatherings, and promotes “making a difference through action and our financial resources”.
You will find us building houses for Habitat, cooking, serving, and collecting food for Mother’s Cupboard, filling backpacks for the Brown County Week-end Backpack Program, cleaning the highway for Adopt-a-Highway Program, collecting noodles and working at St. Vincent DePaul, tutoring each week in our schools, creating a children garden for play and education for the community, scheduling community services as guest-presenters at the Bean Blossom Farmers’ Market, sponsoring Children’s Days and Halloween Party for community children, and serving on community boards. Each Year at Christmas, we sponsor the St. David’s Giving Tree for families—each family member makes a “wish list” and receives gifts and a food basket. We sponsor a children’s party for decorating cookies while making gifts to give to their families.
St. David’s supports children and educational programs in our partnership with Brasilia, the Sudan, and Lunches and Lessons in Mithon, Haiti. We also support the work of Craine House; Silver Linings, Brown County’s homeless shelter for women and children; and Turning Point Shelter in Columbus.
